Senior Electrical Engineer
Description
ENA2 is seeking to hire a senior electrical engineer to be part of our green energy start-up initiative named – PowerLoop Green Energy Technologies. The candidate would possess a solid background in electrical engineering with over 10 years of experience in utility industry. The candidate should be proficient with electrical machines, power electronic converters, power generation and transmission systems, distributed energy systems. and on-grid and off-grid operations.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support and manage the electrical design of renewable energy projects in accordance with the pre-defined deadlines, budgets, and quality requirements
- Formulate concepts and schematics for developing a new energy generation system for providing continuous and reliable electricity from a gravity based renewable energy source
- Selection and sizing of the generators, power electronic converters, cables and transformers for on-grid and off-grid operation of the developed renewable energy system
- Support a team of multi-disciplined specialists to design, develop and deliver renewable energy projects with a specific focus on the electrical aspects of project development
- Assign work and responsibilities to junior engineers and act as the team lead
- Coordinate timelines, resources, and tasks to achieve project goals as project leader
- Add value, avoid/resolve issues, mitigate risks and manage project’s finances and contracts by applying robust project management practices and experience from previous projects
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years experience, Master’s, or PhD degree with minimum 5 years experience
- Previous experience with renewable energy systems and distributed generation
- Knowledge about induction and permanent magnet generators/motors, rectifiers, inverters, drives, and on-grid and off-grid operation of distributed generation systems
- P. Eng. license with APEGA required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
