Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Description

ENA2 is seeking to hire an EIC engineer to be part of our green energy start-up initiative named- PowerLoop Green Energy Technologies. The candidate would possess a solid background in sensors, feedback devices, control systems, gateways, software interfaces and various communication protocols. The candidate will assist in deploying power plant automation solutions to our customers, ensuring a complete integration of PowerLoop technologies at the client site.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of automation and digitalization systems and programs for renewable energy-based power generation plants.
  • Select sensors, feedback devices, gateways, software choices and HMIs by collaborating with third party automation companies
  • Work on the power management, energy management, and energy optimization of the power plant by using optimization software platforms.
  • Formulate the schematics for the monitoring and control system for optimal operation of power plant
  • Work on small scale prototype development for the demonstration of proof of concept.
  • Deliver technical presentations to vendors for customizing the components according to the project requirements.
  • Ensure that the project goals are met in accordance with the pre-defined deadlines, budgets, and quality requirements.
  • Support a team of multi-disciplined specialists to design, develop and deliver renewable energy projects with a specific focus on the monitoring and control aspects of the power plant.
  • Assist the installation of sensors, and other feedback devices in the field during the execution of the project.
  • Familiarization with the automation software and provide training and support to the client
  • Work on the latest IoT and AI based software solutions for power plant automation

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering/ Control or Automation Engineering
  • Minimum five years of experience in the utility/ power generation industry
  • Previous experience with IoT and AI based automation systems is considered an asset.
  • Eligible for registration as a professional engineer with APEGA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
