Course Objectives

By the end of this Abaqus training course, participants will understand the core workflows required to build, run, and review finite element analysis models in Abaqus.

The course is divided into lectures, demonstrations and workshops.

The course’s workshops are integral to the training. They are designed to reinforce concepts presented during the lectures and demonstrations. They are intended to provide users with the experience of running and trouble-shooting actual Abaqus analyses.

Knowledge Prerequisites

No previous knowledge of Abaqus is required, but some basic knowledge of finite elements, interactive modeling and continuum mechanics is desirable.

Introduction to Abaqus FAQ

This course is designed for engineers, designers, analysts, and technical users who are new to Abaqus or want a structured foundation in Abaqus/CAE. No previous Abaqus experience is required, although basic familiarity with finite element analysis is helpful.

Participants will learn how to build Abaqus models, define materials and sections, create assemblies, apply loads and boundary conditions, generate meshes, set up contact, submit analysis jobs, and review simulation results using Abaqus/CAE, Abaqus/Standard, and Abaqus/Explicit.

ENA2 can customize Abaqus training based on your team’s experience level, project needs, preferred schedule, and technical focus areas. Customized sessions can emphasize topics such as nonlinear analysis, contact, meshing, materials, Abaqus/Standard, Abaqus/Explicit, or workflow best practices.

Training can be delivered online, hybrid, or in person in Calgary, Alberta. For engineering teams, ENA2 can also arrange customized training dates to better align with project schedules, internal availability, or specific learning goals.

The course combines lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. These exercises help participants apply the concepts covered in class and gain practical experience creating, running, and troubleshooting Abaqus analyses.

For team-based training, ENA2 can adjust the lecture focus and workshop emphasis to match your organization’s goals. If your team needs more time on contact, nonlinear analysis, meshing, results interpretation, or a specific Abaqus workflow, please contact ENA2 to discuss a customized training plan.
