CFD and FEA Analysis of a Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchanger
This webinar follows a counter-flow shell-and-tube heat exchanger from CFD to structural FEA, covering flow behaviour, pressure drop, thermal gradients, temperature distribution, and thermal stress evaluation.
Registration closes October 19, 2026.
What the Webinar Covers
Part 1 covers the flow and thermal behaviour with CFD. Part 2 uses the resulting temperature distribution in a coupled transient thermal-structural analysis.
Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Fluid-flow analysis of the counter-flow shell-and-tube heat exchanger
- Velocity and pressure drop within the tubes and shell side
- Thermal gradients of the heat exchanger tubes
Finite Element Analysis
- Use the CFD temperature distribution to evaluate thermal gradients in the heat exchanger vessel
- Apply the thermo-mechanical properties of the heat exchanger material
- Evaluate thermal stresses using coupled transient thermal-structural analysis
