Abaqus Fundamentals and Fitness-for-Service Level 3 Assessment
INTRODUCTION TO ABAQUS & FITNESS-FOR-SERVICE TRAINING BUNDLE
This 5-day training bundle combines Introduction to Abaqus with practical Fitness-for-Service analysis workflows. Participants first build core Abaqus/CAE, Abaqus/Standard, and Abaqus/Explicit skills, then learn how Abaqus can support pressure vessel, piping, metal loss, loading, and FEA-based Level 3 assessment workflows.

Course Objectives
By the end of this Abaqus and Fitness for Service Level 3 Assessment training bundle, participants will understand the core Abaqus modeling workflow and how those skills can be applied to Fitness-for-Service evaluations for pressure equipment and plant structures.
- Build Abaqus models using Abaqus/CAE workflows
- Work with native and imported geometry, parts, assemblies, and materials
- Apply loads, boundary conditions, contact, and constraints
- Create suitable meshes and select appropriate elements
- Run linear, nonlinear, static, dynamic, and quasistatic analyses
- Visualize and interpret simulation results
- Model pressure vessel and piping equipment for FFS applications
- Apply and verify pressure, weight, thermal, wind, and operating loads
- Understand Fitness-for-Service assessment procedures
- Perform FEA-based Level 3 assessment workflows using Abaqus
The course is divided into lectures, demonstrations and workshops.
The course’s workshops are integral to the training. They are designed to reinforce concepts presented during the lectures and demonstrations. They are intended to provide users with the experience of running and trouble-shooting actual Abaqus analyses.

ABAQUS & FITNESS-FOR-SERVICE TRAINING BUNDLE FAQ
Who should attend this Abaqus and Fitness-for-Service training bundle?
This bundle is designed for engineers, analysts, fixed-equipment reliability engineers, Fitness-for-Service engineers, plant process engineers, equipment inspectors, and teams that want to build Abaqus skills and apply them to pressure equipment assessment workflows.
How is this bundle different from Introduction to Abaqus alone?
Introduction to Abaqus focuses on the core Abaqus modeling and analysis workflow. This bundle extends that foundation into Fitness-for-Service applications, including pressure vessel modeling, load application, metal loss analysis, and FEA-based Level 3 assessment workflows.
Does the bundle cover Abaqus/CAE and Abaqus/Standard?
Yes. The introductory portion covers Abaqus/CAE, Abaqus/Standard, and Abaqus/Explicit fundamentals. The Fitness-for-Service portion focuses mainly on Abaqus/CAE and Abaqus/Standard workflows used for pressure equipment and structural assessment.
What Fitness-for-Service topics are included?
The bundle introduces Fitness-for-Service assessment procedures, pressure vessel and piping applications, modeling of loads and boundary conditions, metal loss evaluation, and FEA-based Level 3 assessment workflows.
Do participants need previous Abaqus experience?
No previous Abaqus experience is required. The bundle begins with Abaqus fundamentals before moving into applied Fitness-for-Service workflows. Prior exposure to FEA, CAD, pressure equipment, or ASME/API 579 concepts is helpful.
Can this bundle be customized for our team?
Yes. ENA2 can customize this bundle based on your team’s software experience, equipment types, industry applications, schedule, and project-specific training goals.
